  “Great. So I’m useful…as bait?”

  Marve’s mandibles clacked. “If you choose to view it that way, it’s your loss. Things would not have played out the way they did had you not initially dealt with the Sheriff in your usual truculent manner. Gribble would not have been overconfident enough to undo himself had he been faced with two Lotians. But I like your description better: you’re just a hunk of bait.”

  Turlock hated admitting when his partner made sense. So he just muttered: “Let’s find a bank and get our damn money. I feel like blowing a bunch of it.”
